POSADA LA CASA DE LAS MANUELAS
A unique environment
In Moraña’s region, on Avila’s plateau, “Ancha es Castilla” is located in Horcajo de las Torres and “La Casa de las Manuelas” is a typical Mudéjar (muslin style) construction from the area.
The menu is based on our local cuisine: roasts in clay oven over holm oak wood, grilled meats and legumes in stew pot.
A COUNTRY INN WITH 200 YEARS OF HISTORY
Horcajo de las Torres is located in the region of Moraña, on Avila’s plateau. In this beautiful rural environment we find our inn, “La Casa de las Manuelas”, of which a first registration document dated in 1796, is preserved.
La Casa is a typical Mudéjar construction widely spread throughout Castile and Leon regions over the centuries. The building rehabilitation has preserved the charm of the construction, more than 200 years old.
La Casa offers a menu card based on our local cuisine, made out of roasts in clay oven over holm oak wood, grilled meats, legumes in stew pot and all the garden products during the summer.
In short, a country kitchen, tied to the land, based on simple recipes and traditional flavors.
HOW TO ENJOY YOUR STAY AT La Casa
La Casa offers various activities in the area of Moraña, such as mycology, ecotourism, walk-routes through the pine forest and alongside the river, viewing migratory birds, visiting dairies and hunting with greyhounds.
Our guests can also experience a grape harvest in rural style and enjoy different cultural activities, such as visiting the Palace of Juan II, at present the Augustinian Convent –a nun’s cloister-, with a visit to Isabel La Catolica’s birthplace at Madrigal de las Altas Torres, and also participate in other activities and sports, such as handball, paddle tennis, horse riding or biking.
